Volunteering

The Carrboro Music Festival Committee is seeking volunteers for this year's event. Volunteers are needed for the Sunday (September 26th) portion of the Festival. Volunteer hours will qualify for service learning and community service hours. All volunteers will be asked to wear a red Carrboro volunteer t-shirt.

All volunteer applications for the 2021 Festival must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, September 19th, 2021.

For more volunteer information, please our Volunteer Coordinator or call 919-918-7370. For general information on the Carrboro Music Festival, email Galen Poythress.

Application Process

Applications will be available beginning July 19th. Please complete the entire online form. We need all of the information in order to sign you up.

Volunteer Job Descriptions

Every effort is made to allow volunteers to choose where they want to volunteer, but please be flexible. Please try to have an open mind and understand that for all of our planning, things happen unexpectedly. We trust that most of you are willing to help where you are needed.

Parking Lot Attendants

Volunteers are needed to help at musician-only parking lots located in the central area of the festival. This is a great volunteer job for friends to do together.

Venue/Stage Attendants

Volunteers are needed to help musicians load in/out, ensure water is available, and help monitor stages.

T-Shirt Sales / Information Table Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help with t-shirt sales, as well as help festival-goers with questions. Volunteers will be working with Carrboro town staff members.

Mobile Information Volunteers

Volunteers will wear a red Carrboro volunteer t-shirt, get loaded up with festival programs, maps, evaluations, and a clipboard full of answers to festival questions (Where are the bathrooms? Where can I buy a t-shirt?) and will roam all of downtown Carrboro! This is a great volunteer position for friendly, talkative people - and you get to visit all of the music venues!

Recycling/Waste Management Volunteers

The Green Team at the Carrboro Music Festival sweeps the event grounds making sure all bottles and cans consumed are properly recycled and litter is put in its place. Gloves, hand sanitizer, and grabbers are provided. We leave Carrboro clean and green; just join our team! Shifts are 1:00pm-4:30pm and 4:30pm-7:30pm.
