The Town of Carrboro has a number of events scheduled for the month of May, 2017, in celebration of Bike Month, a national program established by the League of American Bicyclists in 1956. The activities will commence with a proclamation read at the May 2nd Board of Aldermen meeting.

May 10th 7:00 A.M. – National Bike/Walk to School Day: Coordinated bike ride for Carrboro Elementary, McDougle Elementary, Morris Grove and Carrboro High School.
- Meet at: Wilson Park for Carrboro Elementary; the intersection of Pathway Drive and Cates Farm Road for McDougle Elementary; the End of Lake Hogan Farm Road and Legends Way for Morris Grove; and Southern Community Park for Carrboro High School
May 13th 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. - Bike on Bus demonstrations at the entrance to the Farmers Market & bike repair demonstrations with the new Fixit Station at Town Commons
May 13th 11 to 2 - Bike Bonanza with the Carrboro Police Department at Back Alley Bikes
May 15th through May 19th National Bike to Work Week
May 16th 7:00 A.M.to 10:00 A.M. - Bike Breakfast at the entrance to the Libba Cotten Bikeway
May 19th National Bike to Work Day
May 23rd at 8:30 A.M. - Ride with the Mayor: Meet at Town Hall
