The Town Council of Carrboro recognizes Monday, Oct. 11, as “Indigenous People’s Day” in Carrboro.
The Council strongly supports the proposition that Indigenous Peoples' Day shall be an opportunity to celebrate the thriving cultures and values of the Indigenous Peoples of our region. The resolution declaring the day as such was adopted unanimously by the Town Council (then known as the Board of Aldermen) in 2015 and continues to be recognized each year.
