The Carrboro Police Department is investigating a burglary and shooting that occurred at Oakwood Apartments, located at 605 Oak Ave.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2021, a resident returned home and discovered that multiple suspects had broken into their apartment. The resident and a friend chased the suspects out of the apartment and through the complex. At some point, one of the suspects fired one shot from an unknown type weapon; however, no injuries were reported. The suspects escaped the area and are still at large. The victim then called 911 and notified police of the incident. The victim reported that multiple items were stolen from the residence.
