The Town of Carrboro is seeking volunteer student artists and muralist to work together on the creation of a new mural to depict Black Lives Matter/End Racism Now. The mural will be located on the east side of the CommunityWorx building located at 125 West Main St. in Downtown Carrboro.

Student Artists
Preference will be given to student(s) that reside in Carrboro and/or members of the Youth Advisory Board, Carrboro Youth Council or NAACP Youth Organization. (May have an art team with maximum of four students per entry –include all participants on form.) Mural rendering should depict your expression of Black Lives Matter/End Racism now. Mural should include the text 'Black Lives Matter'. Artists/artist teams selected as the first and second recommendation renderings will work with coordination team on final design and installation. Artists/artist teams will be notified if their design is selected or recommended for consideration. All other artists submitting work may be considered as part of the team to help create the selected mural. The coordination team, Arts Committee, and Appearance Committee will share first/second recommendation (first and second artists/artist teams will participate in creating final mural. Coordinating Muralist
Preference given to muralists that reside in Carrboro. Submit at least two electronic samples of your work. You will be notified if selected and immediately begin working as a member of the coordination team. You will review mural rendering entries and, along with the Carrboro Arts Committee, provide input and recommendations on the top two entries. The coordination team will begin some of the logistical work. Once the mural is selected by the Town Council, the muralist will work with students to create the mural.
