    CO-SPONSORED BY CARRBORO RECREATION & PARKS DEPARTMENT AND WEAVER STREET MARKET Sip some cider and munch a cookie while the ghoulishly good events unfold. A costume contest will begin at 5:00pm which will be followed by the music and stories. Winners of the costume contest will be announced before the storyteller.   2. Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest

    October 31, 2016, 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM @ Carrboro Town Commons (Farmer's Market Location)

    Carve, paint or decorate your own pumpkin and then bring it to Carrboro Town Commons on Monday, October 31st between 9:30am - 3:00pm. Pumpkins will be displayed that night at the Annual Halloween Carnival. Citizens will have a chance to vote from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on which pumpkin they like best. The winner will be announced and presented a gift card at 8:15pm. All entries must be received by 3:00pm on Monday, October 31st at Carrboro Town Commons. Please Note: Nothing obscene, political or religious statements will be allowed.

  3. Lil' Asana Kids Yoga for ages 6+

    October 31, 2016, 4:15 PM - 5:15 PM @ Loving Kindness Yoga School

    Lil’ Asana is Nicole Mark’s approach to yoga for young people. This eight-week series for young yogis ages 6+ is intended to build confidence, body and breath awareness, coping skills, friendship, and fun primarily through the practice of yoga asana (poses), breathing exercises, mindfulness, basic concepts of yoga philosophy (e.g., kindness and non-harming), and simple meditation techniques. Students should wear comfortable clothes in breathable fabrics and may bring a bottle of water if desired. All levels of experience welcome.

    Come enjoy the night and experience the great carnival games and programs for all ages. We boast a host of carnival style activities that reward your participation with wickedly good prizes. Popcorn, sodas, hot chocolate, apple cider and coffee will be sold at the concession booth (cash only). No registration required.
